    Hanyangdoseong (Seoul City Wall)
Hanyangdoseong is a historic city wall constructed in 1396 by King Taejo, founder of the Joseon Dynasty. It was built to protect the capital city, Hanyang (modern-day Seoul), from external threats and stretches approximately 18.6 km.

    Key Highlights:

    • Historical Significance: It served as a defensive boundary for the city and continues to be a major historical site. Restoration efforts aim to include it in UNESCO's World Heritage list.
    • Structure: The wall encompasses four main gates (Dongdaemun, Namdaemun, Seodaemun, and Bukdaemun) and four smaller gates, each significant in its own right.
    • Modern Use: Today, parts of the wall have been converted into scenic walking trails, offering breathtaking views of the city skyline.

    Naksan Fortress
Naksan Fortress, part of the eastern Hanyangdoseong, follows the gentle slope of Naksan Mountain. Its location provided strategic advantages for city defense and stunning views.

    What to Expect:

    • Well-Preserved Sections: Compared to other parts of the Seoul City Wall, the Naksan section retains much of its original form.
    • Naksan Park: A serene park nearby combines nature with history, providing a great spot for relaxation and exploration.
    • Panoramic Views: From the fortress, you can enjoy spectacular vistas of Seoul, particularly at night.
